Trifari Ming Series Lyon Dragon Red Enamel Gold Plate Vintage Costume Figural Pin Brooch.  Beautiful TKF vintage costume brooch measures 1 3/4 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches high. Original Ming piece Designed by Alfred Philippe and manufactured in 1942.  Gorgeous deep red enamel accented with gold plate markings. Original embedded baroque pearl is encrusted with clear original rhinestones.  Pat Design Number 131,782.  In very good vintage condition, small enamel dings near mouth and some enamel darkening on body. Some gold plate wear on front wings and back of piece.  The pin back is straight and strong, the clasp locks securely.  Ming Lyon is featured in Brunialti Volume 2 American Costume Jewelry Art & Industry, 1935-1950, page 127.  Lovely rare and desirable Trifari brooch.
