Carnegie Resin Gold Tone Mermaid Vintage Figural Costume Brooch.  In excellent vintage condition, this unsigned and weighty mermaid measures 2 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide.  There are three distinct versions of this brooch each with their own variations - a high-end real Carnegie with a detailed face and a clearly defined back  (picture 3, Collectors Weekly - not included in sale). The version here for sale having a bigger cowl with rhinestones and pearl and a higher shell seat; and a lesser lighter version with horrifying eyes (picture 4, not included in sale).  The resin and celluloid portions are bright and shining, the gold tone, pearl and clear rhinestones are original and bright.  The pin back is straight and strong, the clasp locks securely.
