Block Good Earth Lotus Movie Tie-In Vintage Figural Costume Brooch.  Occasionally Fred Block was asked to create a Movie Tie-In piece for Hollywood directors. This is "Lotus" the Geisha second wife of Wang Lung from the movie The Good Earth directed by Sam Wood in 1937.  Measuring a substantial 3 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide and in excellent condition. The gold plate over pot metal is bright and shining with some thin areas and has the Block concentric circles on the back. The rhinestones are original and bright.  This particular brooch is very difficult to find as the Rice-Weiner tie-in pieces of Wang Lung and Olan were the more popular pair to purchase so few of the Lotus pieces were manufactured. The pin back is straight and strong, the clasp locks securely.
