Block Apparel Birds on Branch Vintage Figural Pin Brooch. In very good vintage condition, an unsigned Block Spring-Dress collection brooch. A substantial piece measuring 2 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches tall. The old-gold plate finish and icy rhinestones are bright and original. A nice Block piece, these made-for-apparel pins were frequently removed (stolen) from the Block dresses to the point they were mass-produced for replacement pieces as the dress without the brooch was difficult to sell. There is some irony to this as frequently Block "stole" his designs from Coro and other like designers. The pin back is straight and strong, the clasp locks securely. Third picture is an EXAMPLE showing the signed Coro signature cartouche of the more expensive Coro Birds on Branch.
