Bauman Massa Zulu Warrior figural pin. Brooch was manufactured in the 1940's. All stones are original and very bright. Enamel and metal are in very good vintage condition. Some copper tone loss on back of brooch. Pin is straight and clasp locks securely. Warrior measures a substantial 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.
Bauman Massa has a couple dozen unique costume figurals attributed to their manufacturing facilities. The Suitcase Lady/Bellhop, the Monkey in Coconut Tree, a larger Coconut tree with trembling coconuts and several other unique brooches. With some rare exceptions signed BM, Bauman Massa did not sign their jewelry as it was manufactured for branded department stores sales. Bauman-Massa Jewelry Co was founded in 1882 and liquidated their costume jewelry stock to the public in 2014.
