Longcraft Copper & Enamel Mechanical Wishing Well Vintage Figural Brooch

Longcraft Copper & Enamel Mechanical Wishing Well Vintage Figural Brooch. This Longcraft attributed brooch is in excellent vintage condition and dates to the 1930s. The Well is carefully designed with two chained dangling buckets and carefully made from scrap copper. This was a highly popular use of tiny bits of scrap copper, a manufacturing "use it all" method created during WW2 when metals were scarce. These pieces were considered a reasonable and cost-effective "vermeil" look and to date have lasted as bright and shining examples of American manufacturing ingenuity. There are a series of these well-made brooches that are desirable collectibles. The pin back on this piece is straight and strong, the clasp locks securely.  This piece is attributed to the Longcraft Manufacturing Co  - 1930s but not part of my verified collection.
