Longcraft Copper & Enamel Birdbath Whimsy Vintage Costume Figural Pin Brooch - 1930s. In excellent vintage condition, the brooch measures 2 3/4 inches tall.  This jewelry creation was a popular use of tiny bits of scrap copper or other metals, a manufacturing "use it all" patterned method created by Longcraft during WW2 when metals were scarce. These pieces were considered a reasonable and cost-effective "vermeil" look and to date have lasted as bright and shining examples of manufacturing ingenuity. There are a series of these well-made brooches that are desirable collectibles. The pin back on this piece is straight and strong, the clasp locks securely.  The piece has not been cleaned and part of a very large Longcraft collection owned by family for over 60 years.
